What is the best Omega-3 supplement for pregnant women?

I have heard about Flaxseed oil, Fish Oil, and DHA supplements. Which is the best supplement to take while pregnant and why? Are there any bad side effects on the fetus if I take flaxseed or fish oil?

  1. I’m 36 weeks prego, and I’ve been taking Fish Oil supplements my entire pregancy along with my pre-natal and calcium. I chose fish oil because of the pure oil, and chose a supplemement with the max DHA and EPA per one capsule, because I didn’t want to have to take 4 capsules a day!! Research says that fish oil during prgnancy helps with babies hand – eye coordination and helps prevent PPD in mothers!

  2. My doctor recommends expecta, because it’s for pregnant women. they give free samples of it at their office, but it costs about $10 per month at walmart.
