Actually grasping this concept alone will be your most valuable asset on your journey to confidence…remember it is a journey not a destination. Confidence is a key when it comes to success and reaching your goals. We are a product of our environment and many of us have been pushed down and gone through amazingly difficult circumstances that have shaped our confidence levels.

The first target of the easy meditation techniques is to bring us to a calmer and more peaceful state. Considering this, the easy meditation techniques need to be applied in a friendly, beautiful place, where no disturbing external factors can be found.

But generally, we are not aware of the breath till our attention is drawn close to it. Dharana means its awareness.

Basically, this ambient needs to stimulate all our senses, to induce a state of calm and relaxation. Therefore, we can use quiet music, scented candles, diffuse lights or other such particular elements that can create a welcoming and suitable meditation space.

Sit in a posture suitable for meditation. The common postures are Siddhasana, Padmasana and Swastikasana. But if you cannot do this, just sit cross-legged. Your back should be straight and eyes closed.

Your knees should be placed well on the ground. Do not stoop your shoulders back.

The whole body should be relaxed and the whole frame steady without exerting any pull or pressure on the thighs, feet, knees, spine or neck.

There should be no stretch on tension along the abdominal wall. Let the abdominal wall sway gently back and forth very smoothly and effortlessly with each respiration.

This helps us know our bodies better and to actually enjoy the breathing session, thus feeling that it charges us with the needed pure air.

* Get a hobby that is enjoyable to you and allows you to express yourself. Things such as music, art, writing, or even volunteering are great examples. It doesn’t have to be something you think you will be good at…let it be something that is purely for enjoyment and you’ll be amazed at how good at it you actually are!

Ensure that the lips, tongue or the lower jaws do not move.

After managing to complete this step, we are ready to let our mind and imagination flow and to enjoy the actual meditation.

One of the easiest meditation techniques presupposes thinking about certain meaningful phrases that bring positive emotions and feelings. We can choose religious facts and ideas, philosophical concepts or simple words that have a symbolic relevancy to us.

Now start developing the awareness of breathing. The flow of air should be uniform, slow and smooth. Do not make any effort or exercise any control.
