Vegan Wedding Food – Following Are the Foods We Made At Our Vegan Wedding

Vegan wedding food can be quite remarkable. I know since I recent tied the knots and I cooked and co-planned the foods, which are all 100% vegan!

Do you want to know how we managed to prepare all of this vegan wedding food for about 60 people? There was plenty of planning involved, and our vegan menu ended tasting and looking pretty well. You guys are familiar about me and health vegan recipes, so the food was really healthy, too.

Vegan Wedding Snacks

Aside from my favorite afternoon snack which is fruit, we had some vegetables, some raw and some grilled, plus some pitas with the following:

* Diced Tomato Salsa * Black Bean Dip * Hummus

My uncle and aunt made some margaritas during the snack time to get the party started. Phil and I set up a couple of games in the property, and separated our guests into teams for a tournament. We played golf, Frisbee, bocce ball, did some cross word puzzles and played a crazy relay race with apples called Apple Olympics, and had a photographic scavenger hunt and a treasure hunt.

It was not most people’s idea for a wedding day, but it was the best for us, so stress free, laid back and fun.

Vegan Wedding Hors D’oeuvres

Once the games tournament wrapped up, the real fun food time started with vegan hors d’oeuvres. Phil’s mom Jenny and I put most of our creative energy into hors d’oeuvres because they’re so fun and impressive. Here’s a list of what we served:

* Savory Shortbread Topped With Fig Walnut Tapenade * Black Bean And Sweet Potato Phyllo rolls * Basil Pesto Canapes * Avocado And Red Pepper Sushi * Spinach And Mushroom Phyllo triangles

Vegan Wedding Entrees

After those excellent appetizers, we wanted to keep a fairly elegant but simple dinner. We had 2 vegan food options for the main dinner course:

* Kamut Penne With Basil Tomato Sauce And A Walnut Crumble Topping * Kamut Fusilli With Roasted Red Peppers, Spinach, Kalamata Olives, Capers And Mushroom Wine Sauce

As for the side dish:

* Mixed Green Salad With Blueberries And Sliced Hazelnuts With A Roasted Garlic Vinaigrette * Fresh and Seasoned Vegetable Plate

After dinner, there was a bonfire going and Phil’s dad’s band played on the back patio, so lots of dancing, of course, and dessert…

Vegan Wedding Dessert

Dessert is an area that tends to leave people wondering about vegan options for some reason. I always like to give the choice of something chocolatey or something fruity (or both), so there were 2 options:

* Chocolate Krinkles – The chocolate part was filled by something I call krinkles, because that’s what my nana called them. I’ve modified them from her recipe to make them healthier, despite being chocolate. They are dark chocolate with natural peanut butter, mixed with puffed rice and then chilled to set.

* Blueberry-Lemon Tart With An Almond-Oat Flour Crust – The lemon is thickened and set with arrowroot and agar. Some toasted coconut flakes were also sprinkled on top while it set.
