Work and a Personal Water Filter System

There are a lot of jokes about employees standing around the water cooler, but if you work in an office you’ve most likely drunk the water from such a device. It’s typically just a given that this drinking water if clean and safe, but is it really a reliable water filter system?

First, there are a lot of germs on these coolers. Everyone in your office visits the water cooler several times per day to replenish. In the meantime, they are often using dirty hands to touch the cooler’s spigot. If one person has a cold, the entire office could easily catch it.

Second, the quality of water from these coolers is often very poor. Many of the companies that supply this water don’t do a good job of filtering. They may remove bad tastes and odors, but a lot of contaminants are never touched. So, you could very easily be drinking toxins if you drink this water.

Water in these coolers can contain bacteria, cysts, pesticides, fluoride, chlorine, mercury and lead, to name a few. Thankfully, you can avoid all of these contaminants if you just have your own personal water filter system at your desk.

These filter systems are great for many reasons. First, they give you pure water that doesn’t have any harmful toxins in it. During the filtration process, they also leave in all the good water minerals. They don’t take up much room, so you can fit them on any desk or cubicle. If you still want that social time at the water cooler, just fill up a large cup with water from the cooler and pour it in your water filter.

Make sure the filter you buy removes virtually all toxins from the water. It should also leave in the healthy minerals found in water. Finally, it should have filters that last longer than those you buy at the convenience store.

There are other ways to socialize with your coworkers without jeopardizing your health. Get your own personal water filter system at work and you won’t have to worry about getting sick, either from your coworkers’ germs or from the water itself.
