What to take on a beach break

If you’re heading off for a beach holiday then you need to be sure you have all the essential products needed to look chic and stylish whilst basking on your beach towel. In order to minimise stress and the number of bags you need to pack here’s a checklist of items you’ll need:

Make-up:

Get a lip gloss with SPF 15 or above. There’s nothing worse than chapped, flaky lips so you’ll need a product with some sunscreen in it. Leave the liquid foundation at home and just opt for a nice sparkly, highlighting bronzer that can double up for eyes and cheeks.

A waterproof mascara can come in handy to prevent that ‘panda bear’ look after you’ve had a dip in the sea. You’ll need a good makeup remover though – waterproof mascara can be a challenge to get off at the end of the day.

To cover up blemishes opt for a dust of powder or a concealer stick. If the temperatures are high foundations can look caked and will make you feel uncomfortable.

Body Care:

Regardless of how much you want to achieve that sun-kissed glow, do not be tempted to leave the sun cream at home. Make sure you choose a good level of protection to avoid that embarrassing lobster red look.

However, it happens to the best of us so if you do catch too much sun and get sunburned it’s a good idea to take a soothing after sun gel based in aloe vera.

Cocoa butter lotion is also a must-have for beach babe holidays. The aloe vera will reduce burning on over-exposed skin and a healthy dose of cocoa butter will lessen the chance of peeling.

Another great tip is to take some eye drops. Getting sand in your eyes is a very unpleasant experience when playing a spot of beach soccer.
