The Most Common Skin Problems

When it comes to our body, the skin is a very important part. As well as keeping us alive, the skin is essential to our beauty. If you have bad skin it is almost impossible to look your best. Most of us are guilty of taking our skin for granted however, until something goes wrong with it.

Below are just an example of the most common skin conditions that we could suffer with.

Eczema. This is a chronic condition that leaves the skin itchy with rashes and scales. There are a few different types of eczema and they can leave the skin looking pretty poor. Anyone who has eczema will probably not have this dry skin all the time; they usually have skin which is hypersensitive and which will flare up when something triggers it. It is important for people with this condition to always keep their skin moisturised.

Acne. Acne is probably the most common skin condition around and most of us will suffer with it at some stage in our lives. It is particularly likely to happen during puberty because of hormonal changes. What happens is that the oil glands become blocked and this can allow bacteria to accumulate. There are a number of different treatments available for acne such as creams etc.

Psoriasis. This causes the skin to become scaly and it can be something that is very obvious. The main reason it occurs is because of a build up of extra skin tissue. You will usually find that it is more prominent on the knees or elbows but it can also occur on other parts of the body. Many people with psoriasis will feel quite embarrassed by it but it can be treated by a number of different things.

Skin cancer. Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers. However if it is diagnosed early enough, then it can be treated effectively. Spending too much time in the sun could increase your chances of getting skin cancer.
