Some Methods To Keep In Touch With Your Grandchildren

Grandparents can keep in touch with their school age grandchild in so many ways.

1. Since your child is busy establishing their lives and raising children, you can always offer to lend a hand whether they are still babies or your grandchild is already in school. It is different having one’s own parent looking out on your child while you are at work. As grandparents, you can either help your grandchild with their homework or you can fix them snacks when they come home from school.

2) You can send a letter or a card to your grandchild to let them know how much you miss and think of them.

3. Your child can be forgetful especially if they are busy at work, be the one to remind them to notify if you your grandchild has activities in school or any sporting event that you can attend. It would be fun and would make you really proud watching your grandchild perform.

4. Calling is another great of way of communicating. Either you call or send them text messages once in awhile just to keep in touch. If your grandchild is older, try to call briefly and casually. They have the tendency to misunderstand your regular call as interfering.

5) Another way is to have your child to install any form of visual calling application in their computer so you can call them online and have a video chat. This way, you talk and see them anytime you want. Although it would be best to keep this brief and short, it is a way of letting your grandchild knows they can contact you anytime they want.

Communicating is not difficult with all the modern technology and it is important that you allow the lines open for you and your grandchild. You play an important role in their lives since you are the link to their past and their parents’ past.

Hopefully, these tips shared are helpful for you to be able to communicate well with your grandchild.
