Motivation Boosters When You Are Trying To Lose Arm Fat

Many women spend way too much time trying to find the absolute best arm-toning program before taking any action. Even worse, some women end up taking NO action because they get paralyzed from so much analyzing.

I have some good news, there is no best anything. Perfection and absolutes do not exist. However, let’s assume that in our arm fat world the best program did in fact exist. Would you be able to keep on doing it month in and month out?

I would bet money that many women wouldn’t be able to because staying motivated for long periods of time (sticking with it) is NOT easy. Especially, if you have no mental game plan in place.

How do you stay motivated ad infinitum? We are very complex creatures psychologically speaking, and answering this question within the space of a single article is impossible. However, I do have 4 rapid fire tips for staying motivated if you’re trying to lose arm fat:

1. Always look at the reward of taking action, not the punishment of not taking action. In other words, tell yourself “I want to exercise today so that I can wear my sleeveless dress tomorrow.” Do NOT tell yourself “I must exercise today or I’ll be a slob.” The slight change in wording and visualization will make a huge difference in the long run.

2. Never internalize failures. Instead, look at the outside circumstances that led to said failure. Externalizing and objectifying the failure will preserve your self-worth and willpower. Too many women get emotional and blame themselves whenever something goes wrong with their arm fat mission, whether it be missing a workout or splurging on a pleasure food. Look at the factors that led to the misbehavior, and avoid them in the future.

3. Use movement for motivation. It’s impossible to stay 100% focused 100% of the time. There will be times when you feel like doing absolutely nothing. Do not beat yourself up, this is normal. Instead, simply start moving irrespective of how you feel. More often than not, you’ll notice that the movement will produce motivation. Don’t let the arm fat blues get to you!

4. Avoid pairing anger with criticism. You will encounter people who will criticize some aspect of your arm fat mission. Unfortunately, the world is full of these loud and obnoxious types. You know, the ones that always say what’s on their minds without any filter? Here’s what to do: deconstruct the criticism, define with precision the points of contention. It’s usually a lack of definition (i.e., ambiguity) that makes the criticism seem valid. If you take it apart and define each element, both you and your criticizer will notice that there usually is no issue.

Nothing in life is both rapid and easy. The faster results come with more effort. In any case, most flabby arm failures are directly related to an inability for sustaining long term motivation. Anybody can start the arm fat race, but few can finish.

One more thing: take action now, not later. After all, if you wait, you will mostly like forget the lessons!
