How to Save Electrical Energy Daily
The United States consumes more electricity than any other nation. With environmental issues like pollution and the depletion of the ozone layer, we should be extremely conscious of the amount of electricity we are consuming.
We are going to focus on a couple of things that all of us can do to save energy and save money as well. There is nothing complicated about what we will show you but you have to endeavor to do these things in order to save our environment.
One simple and easy thing you can do is to just switch off the lights when you go out a room. Many people will leave lights switched on in a room when they know they will return, possibly in ten or fifteen minutes. Leaving the room unattended with the lights switched on can lead to as much as thirty minutes or more of squandered electrical energy if done a number of times a day. Even if 30 minutes doesn’t look like much, bear in mind that millions upon millions of people do this everyday. If you total it all up, one person could be squandering no less than 182 hours of electrical power yearly. Let’s assume we squander about 182 hours of electrical energy every year and we multiply that by one million people. That totals to 182,000,000 hours of electrical energy being squandered a year on only one light.
Another wasteful habit that numerous people do is switch the lights on when walking into a room. This has become second nature to many people. I tend to catch myself doing it also. The trouble is that even during daytime when you have no need for the light as you’re getting more than enough sunlight to light up the room. And nonetheless, we enter a brightly lit room and flip the light switch to on. And the worst part is since there is daylight, you may exit the room and leave the lights flipped the entire day because you don’t even realize it’s on. You only need to make a conscious effort to not switch the lights on during the day unless you have to.
One huge problem is people leaving things like television and radios switched on the whole day even if they are not in the same room. I yell at my mom whenever I visit and she has her TV on but isn’t even watching it. This is a huge waste of electrical power. So, if you are not watching the telly, only flip it off.
These are simply a couple of easy things that can be done every day to help conserve energy and to help save the Earth by doing so. It simply takes a little effort on your part to remember these things, and when each person makes a tiny effort, it can add up to make a great difference.
