Tired of your Routine? Skipping Rope Might be your Solution

Is your training routine getting a little boring? A little stagnant? Are you looking for a new, unique method of training? More likely than not, it’s probably time for a few changes.

In all my years of training and teaching, I’ve always believed that true results come to those who choose to step outside of their comfort zone. That’s how you improve. Constantly challenging yourself will help you get to that next level.

If you’re looking for a new way to challenge your cardiovascular fitness, it’s time to check out the power of skipping rope. This is a form of training that is often overlooked and underutilized.

Skipping rope exercises have the ability to improve your balance and coordination. They have the power to improve your timing, rhythm and mental focus. Most notably, skipping rope can drastically improve your cardiovascular fitness and the incredible physique that comes with it.

The best way to utilize skipping rope exercises is to use them in a tabata format. The idea is to alternate short, intense bursts of activity with equally long periods of rest (or low intensity). For example, you can do a run in the spot skip for 30 seconds at high intensity and alternate that with 30 seconds of very, very light regular skips. This really boosts your heart rate and HGH levels.

Skipping is also very useful as part of a dynamic warm-up. It loosens up your entire body, gets the blood flowing and prepares you for action. I often use it as a warm-up and cool down and I recommend you do the same. It’s quick and very effective.

One last reminder about skipping – keep practicing! Don’t give up on yourself. Learning how to jump rope can be a painful and frustrating journey but you need to keep pushing through the tough times if you want to succeed.

Maybe it’s time for a change. If you want to spice up your workout a bit, try these skipping rope exercises. They’ll transform your body in no time.
