The Worst Habits for Your Waist

Are you fed up with feeling chubby? Are you fed up with fighting your muffin top only to lose the fight every single day? Believe it or not, the things that could be keeping you from getting thin could be some of your daily habits that you don’t even think about doing anymore. There are all sorts of awful habits that keep us weighing more than we would like to weigh. Here are some habits you have to consider changing if you truly wish to look and feel better about your waistline.

Only eating foods low in fat or have no fat at all. Be aware that low fat and fat free foods do not really save you a lot of calories. What they take out in fat, they replace in the form of carbohydrates. These are the sugars that induce sugar rushes and the subsequent sugar crashes as well as that rebound hunger that keeps you eating all the time. Cater to your taste buds and allow yourself to savor the full fat versions of food from time to time. Your energy levels will improve while your food cravings will diminish.

Figuring out your nutrition on your own can oftentimes makeyou stagnate in your weight. When you consider it on a surface level, nutrition seems to be very straightforward. The honest truth is, though, that it is really very complex. If you want to go on a campaign to get healthy and lose weight, you should make at least one appointment with a dietitian. A dietitian will help you work out how much of what type of food you need to consume and help you plan a reasonable and hearty diet.

Failure to get the right amount of sleep. Studies have indicated that people who diet and don’t get adequate sleep have the tendency to gain, on average, two and a half times more belly fat than people who get the required six to seven hours per night. You’ve probably heard eight hours all your life, but six or seven has been proven to be the most positive for people who are trying to slim down.

You’d be surprised at how many of your day-to-day small habits are preventing you from losing the weight you want to lose. Things like drinking a good amount of soda pop, eschewing empty calories and trying to plan your own weight loss diet (especially when you are new to dieting) can all contribute to the size of your waistline. Make sure you talk with your doctor to determine if any of the things you are doing could be preventing you from achieving your weight loss goals.
