In the various dinner parties I have attended, I have been able to be the one of the audience of different speakers. For one, in a dinner party, you do not expect the speaker to speak before the guest have cleared their dancing and feasting. This is because after dinner speakers honestly can’t expect their audience to be able to pay attention when they are hungry and bored. I’ve also noticed that there are different speaking styles used in order to get and keep an audience’s attention. The role of a speaker requires this ability.
