For shorter legs; ankle straps should be avoided as they make them appear even shorter. For those people with medium to short legs, the choice would be mules and things. While shopping walking shoes, make sure the front portion of the shoes are flexible and bend easily. Try wearing those shoes and test whether you are able to move your toes freely. Figure out whether the heel is properly cupped inside the shoe. This way the shoe will offer adequate cushioning and stability. Also, find out whether the heels are supported well. You can do it by leaning your heels on the shoes and assessing its support. It is always wiser to buy those shoes with thick tongue as it may help in protecting your feet from the friction that is caused due to laces.
