Authentic Mexican Quesadillas Recipe (Mexican Appetizers)

Mexican foodies will tell you traditional Mexican food like these quesadillas specifically may just be the easiest, most simple Mexican appetizers recipe I have ever come across in Mexican cuisine. The quesadilla is really Mexico’s take on the American favorite: grilled cheese sandwiches– only we’re substituting corn tortillas in place of the bread, in order to bind our sandwich!

Quesadillas are perhaps most commonly thought of as a quick snack to whip up, or even a fast supper if you just make a few extra and you’re in a lazy mood, when you are really tired and you don?t have the energy for whipping up a big meal from that Mexican cookbook you have on the shelf. Here it is:

Time it takes to cook these: 15 minutes, more or less

Ingredients you’ll need for this (serves four people):

About 200 grams of manchego cheese Your favorite Mexican salsa (verde, roja, pico de gallo, or even a guacamole dip)–just something to add a bit more flavor Eight tortillas de maiz (corn tortillas)

Directions for making these:

Begin by heating a cast iron pan on the stove.

Slice the cheese you have into 8 same size portions.

Prepare your fav. Mexican salsa (some good recommendations above, in the ingredients area).

Heat the corn tortillas up one by one in a pan big enough to hold them, and while each is heating up, add your manchego cheese to the tortilla, then fold the whole thing in half so that it looks like a semi-circle cheese sandwich…thingy, and just allow it to heat up enough so that the manchego melts and you’re left with a delicious quesadilla.

Remove each when ready and then top with the salsa you made, and then devour the deliciousness that is one of the most basic and easy to make authentic Mexican recipes from the easy authentic Mexican appetizers corner of the cuisine.

Mexican quesadillas are amazingly easy to whip up and they work great as a little snack you can prepare and in a very small period of time, great for serving to your unexpected dinner guests who managed to pop by without an invitation or for serving to children as a nice after school treat if they enjoy Mexican snacks and you think they’d like these authentic Mexican recipe appetizers. So until the next recipe, keep trying new things with the food you eat, keep enjoying new and varied Mexican food, and enjoy this Mexican appetizers recipe!
