Is there actually such a thing as 0 carb foods? It looks too good to be true that you can have an unconstrained quantity of such tasty foods when you're on a low carbohydrate diet and trying to obtain or maintain your ideal weight.
Zero carb foods do exist. But you have to be careful, because some foods that you might think had no carbohydrates do in truth have some. 0 Carb Foods
Zero carb foods fall into 3 main groups:
All unprocessed flesh meats including chickens.

But: the foods that the vegetable oils are extracted from, do contain carbs. So though there isn't any carbohydrate in olive oil, there is carbohydrate in olives. Spray oils aren't pure and are not usually 0 carb foods.
Pure butter is awfully low in carbs (less than 0.01g carbohydrate per tablespoon) so most low carb diets permit it in unlimited quantities. But margarine contains various other ingredients and is way higher in carbs.
There also are a couple of other nil carb foods. Pure minerals have no carbs, so that includes regular salt (though not necessarily salt substitutes).
Low Although Not Zero Carb Foods
The following foods do have some carbohydrates, and you want to count them if you've got a carbohydrate limit as an element of your low carb diet.
Vegetables – all veggies have some carbohydrate. Starchy veggies have more; watery veggies like lettuce and celery have less. Nevertheless, you should not attempt to cut out all vegetables from your diet. They contain fiber and minerals that are important for our survival.
Spices – most spices are made of ground seeds or ground plants, which are going to contain some carbs. They are mostly less than 1g net carb per teaspoon, but check labels.
Eggs – one giant egg contains roughly 0.4g net carbohydrate.
Cheese – as a rule, hard cheese is low in carbs while creamy and soft cheeses are higher.
Milk, yogurt, cream – usually with these liquid dairy foods, you can figure that the higher they are in fat, the lower they are in carbs. So heavy cream is low in carbohydrates while half-and-half is far higher. Yogurt made with full-fat milk is lower in carbohydrates than yogurt made with skim milk. None of these are 0 carb foods.
