What vitamin supplements should a young woman take?

I am 25 and fairly active.

I currently take a multivitamin pill as well as fish oil daily. I don’t want to overdo it.

Which vitamin supplements are most important for a young woman to take?

If you are active, you should make sure you get enough calcium and vitamin D so that you don’t get any stress fractures. This is even more important if you’re rapidly increasing your exercise levels from nothing. It’s too much, too fast, and the bone can’t handle it. As long as you are taking a decent multivitamin then you shouldn’t need any more. Fish oil is also a great supplement to take since it provides an excellent source of good fatty acids that help with overall cardiovascular health and brain function such as memory, recall and focus.

    take a womans one a day….most vitamins are the same…some like the womans one a day has a few extra things for the ladies….fish oils are good for you….you cant overdo them. stick to those.

    Calcium is really important because you don’t want to end with Osteoporosis and vitamin E..but maybe you should take something like Centrum.

    Calcium and iron are key additional items for women. So make sure you include good dairy sources in your diet. At this time of year (in the Northern Hemisphere) the intake of vitamin D decreases. Some research indicates that it should be supplemented during the winter or ensure you get some sun time everyday.
