1. The Leitrim Way, Leitrim – Leitrim is a little identified but very stunning section of Ireland. This stroll passes through a selection of scenery features present with the area. Starting on the East shoreline of Lough Allen, the runner moves by way of wonderful scenery right up until getting to Barlear. The path is comprised of old and new tracks. It’s generally more appealing just to walk from Drumshambo to Manorhamilton. The entire length is 48km/30 miles and the greatest stage is from Dowra to Manorhamilton that is approximately a distance of 32km/20 miles.

2. Howth Coastal Path, Dublin – Begin your stroll towards the east of Howth Village for the car park of Balscadden Bay. From this point, a track walks you up and round the Nose of Howth and to the cliff tops. Continue uphill, consuming the spectacular views of Lambay Island and Ireland’s Eye. Care must be used because the path runs not far from the edge of the ledge. Moving up-wards to 120m, a small detour towards the south goes to Baily Lighthouse, the last of Ireland’s 82 lighthouses to become automated.

3. The Western Way, Galway – This well-known trail, The Western Way, begins in Oughterard around the shores of Lough Corrib. It winds its way through Connemara’s Highlands providing superb views of hills, lakes and coastline, like the great fjord of Killary harbour.

4. Jenkinstown Park, Co. Kilkenny – This Woodland Park is associated with the Thomas Moore song “The Last Rose of Summer”. There is a deer park, created walks of different length plus an property and farm structures which add interest towards the park.
