Vegetarian Food Recipes And Why Some People Refuse To Eat Meat

Meat is everywhere these days. You’ll find heaps of it in the grocery stores, in almost every fast food joint you’ll visit today, and it’s even served all over the place in school cafeterias at lunch time. If you live in the “west”, it is very hard to get away from meat, and if you’re a vegetarian, many simply ask why you’d want to do such a thing. With meat being such a staple in most of our diets and it tasting so delicious, why do some choose to avoid meat entirely and cook and serve vegetarian food recipes, exclusively?

It turns out their reasons are many, but some of the common reasons I hear vegetarians giving for turning to vegetarian food recipes include the increasingly popular believe that the meat we eat today is less healthy for our body than it was in years gone by; the scientific reports that are piling up, that tell us our “assembly line/mass production approach to the farming process these days is not doing anything good for our planet; and the increased connection many people are feeling with animals, today, and their awareness that animals are just like us in that they too have a perceptual experience and feelings of their own and that they’re more like us that we ever thought.

In terms of how meat is becoming less healthy to eat, the growing concerns mostly have to do with the growth hormones that are used to fatten the animals up to and have them produce more. Some of those chemicals we inject into these animals make their way into our body, because we are eating those animals and, once we’ve ended their lives, processed them, and the bought them at the super market, we cook them and we consume that chemically-laden meat.

Along with this, the way we fence in the animals today on farms is more akin to a factory, where it’s about efficiency and each animal has just a very small amount of space and no more land to roam around on, which results in them getting less physical exercise, which results in animals with more body fat, which we consume and is not as healthy. Many people also are of the opinion that that heavily negative fear emotions these animals experience as they meet their end at our hands in some truly horrible ways today, that flow through their veins and into the tissue of their muscles in their dying moments, results in chemical toxins getting trapped in the meat we package from this process, that are harmful to eat. And that’s just another reason people are turning away from eating meat and towards the healthier vegetarian recipes.

But this is just scratching the surface and there are many, many more reasons people have for turning to vegetarian food recipes these days, and I’m going to cover them in an upcoming post, so be sure to stay tuned if you’re interested in learning more!
