Total Gym Pilates

I have been obsessed with achieving total fitness for a long time. You see, growing up I was fat and out of shape. I felt edgy all the time, and had few friends. People didn’t want to be seen around me. Kids are very cruel, and the cruelty just reinforced the problems that I had. Getting involved in Iyengar yoga, as well as starting a regimen of jogging and swimming, took me part of the way, but it didn’t seem like enough.

I met a friend who recommended total gym Pilates. I had always been a little bit suspicious of total gym exercise equipment. It seemed a little bit too complex and too gimmicky. I have always preferred workouts that involve as few props and tools as possible. That is why I like to swim and jog. I will play sports, of course, but I spend very little time on the weights. When I do, I use free weights and not weight machines. Total gym Pilates seemed like exactly the opposite of what I had always enjoyed doing.

My friend was very persistent, and told me how much of a difference total gym Pilates had made in his life. I had to admit he looked good, and appeared to be healthier than ever even though he was approaching 35. I decided to give total gym Pilates a try. I don’t know how I can be so popular! Figuring out how to do total gym Pilates is harder than the workout itself. There are so many rules, so many complex body movements, and so many toys and props that you need to buy, borrow, or rent. Total gym Pilates seems like yoga for the age of conspicuous consumption. Rather than simply doing the poses themselves, you do them on complex machines that make everything more difficult. I really couldn’t see the point.

Then I looked in the mirror after a couple of weeks of doing total gym Pilates. I was amazed. It really does work! Although the workout is cumbersome and unpleasant, the results are undeniable. Nevertheless, I am not sure that I will stick with total gym Pilates. To be honest, it is very similar to yoga but I like yoga better. Although a yoga workout routine might take a little bit longer to get results with, it is a lot more pleasant than total gym Pilates. In addition, yoga has the added benefit of helping you achieve a state of meditative calm.
