The Many Reasons To Clean One’s Room

Removing the clutter from one’s room is a excellent way to come upon long forgotten hobbies and passions, while also insuring one time to ease the mind while doing a mundane and beneficial task. It leaves a person with a sense of accomplishment and removes the stress caused by the mess. It also lends you a chance to find lost physical objects that you used to enjoy, such as a cue stick.

The reason I brought up a billiard stick, is because that is what I recently discovered in the process of cleaning out the closet of my room. Finding this pool cue allowed me to recall that I enjoy pool, a passion that I had forgot I enjoy. So much have I enjoyed the past-time of pool as of late, that it has driven me to order yet another pool cue.

Obviously finding pool cues, isn’t the only purpose for restoring ones bedroom. There is also a calming and meditative quality to it. The stress and business of your day-to-day life can make you stall the cleaning that you are sure you will at some point have to complete. This stalling creates stress and anxiety. Cleaning ones room gets rid of this anxiety and stress while giving one a second to contemplate about whatever they would like to.

Also, there is the negative health qualities of living in a cluttered bedroom. Dirt and dust are bad for your health for a multitude of reasons. Foremost of these reasons is the potential sinus irritation and allergies caused by dirt and dust. For instance, blank and sheets slowly build up dirt and dead skin (dust) overtime created by your body. When you sleep with this build up, your sinuses will cause you to regret it in the morning. Being ill and suffering from allergies causes you less productive and more apt to fall into depression at any possible time.

If rediscovering a passion or hobby, such as pool sticks and pool, or relieving your anxiety or stress, or even benefiting ones health are not positive enough reasons for you to re-organize ones room, then please consider the social aspect for a second. Who are you more prone to commiserate with, an individual with a clean room, no allergies and a pool cue? Or maybe the sickly person that resides in a pigsty and doesn’t even have a cue stick. I think the answer should be a nonstarter to you.
