In most everyone’s childhood there are moments when we knew our parents were unhappy. Their mood has a powerful impact on the atmosphere in the home. Parents are a child’s first and most powerful role models so, the tone they set often reflects on their child and his behavior.

That’s why it’s important to be conscious of the effect your mood has on your child. If you are constantly moody or depressed you child may feel that way to. Just like they need to be taught how to read, children need to be taught how to control their feelings and how they react to events and others behavior.
 


Findings indicate that many adults wish their parents had been happier when they were growing up. They said it impacted their outlook on life. 



Despite feeling that way, these same adults often find themselves behaving the same way their parents did when they were being raised. They forget the way they felt as a child and as an adult they succumb to stress and are angry, tense and irritable. 


Being a good parent means trying to be as happy as you can for your children. This is important not only for ourselves but also because of how intuitive children are. If our children perceive us as happy, healthy people, they will act that way, as well. 


Children need more than good caretakers. They need parents that provide the right examples for them to follow. Along with teaching them right from wrong, children need to know that they will be happier in life if they stay upbeat. Of course, no one is happy all the time but you can let your children know that life is mostly good. They will believe you. 



It takes strength to not feel burdened by life’s injustices but for your child’s sake, it’s important not to dwell on them. Negativity hurts everyone.


Achieving inner happiness and emotional strength is something to continually strive for. It will make you happier and your children, as well. It will help you raise children that are well-adjusted and content.
