muscle mass?

can i lift weights i m 13 in 1 day and 5"11 tall and 130 pounds i play basketball and my coach said it is not good idea but hes 5"9 i have well toned muscles but im so skinny and what shuld i eat for more mass

    You can lift weights, but you should not be doing heavy weights.
    It is possible to injure the growth plates on your major bones if you lift very heavy weights while you are still growing.
