Hunting for food is as old a habit as man, for he could survive only by obtaining his food from nature. And this applies to almost all animals, who have different functions in a community. The second man’s best friend is the cat, which was domesticated by Egyptians, but the exact period is not known. However, in some parts of Asia it is eaten and is part of man’s diet.

In Alaska and Siberia, people have domesticated the reindeer for its meat, in Peru – the guinea pig, around 5000 BC and the dromedary camel in Arabia in 4000 BC. It seems now just obvious that man would want to domesticate animals instead of go hunting for them. He could secure a permanent supply of meat and avoid the sessions of hunting where he would depend on luck and many other elements.
