Maybe the Gwyneth Paltrow Diet is NOT the Most Extreme Diet?

Actress gone country singer Gwyneth Paltrow is also known for her very slender figure, but has her diet lead to a bonier situation than she can handle?

It seems the Gwyneth Paltrow diet may have left the beautiful, skinny star with some rather brittle bones. She was diagnosed with a condition called osteopenia. Osteopenia patients have a low bone density, but not as low as patients with osteoporosis. Osteopenia most often leads to osteoporosis.

The Gwyneth Paltrow diet is a macrobiotic diet that precludes Gwyneth from eating meat and dairy, and although it has kept Gwyneth thin over the years, it may have also lead her to be deficient in vitamin D. This type of diet incorporates whole grains, fruits, vegetables and a few servings of fish. Does this make the Gwyneth Paltrow diet the most extreme diet?

Being a mostly vegetarian diet, the Gwyneth Paltrow diet can be very healthy. It also means, literally, “great life” and can become a way of life for those who follow it, providing abundant energy and in a very sustainable fashion.

The Gwyneth Paltrow diet is most definitely high in fiber, which is a good thing for weight loss and heart health. It may also help prevent cancer, and the high amounts of phytochemicals from all the vegetables and fruits are certainly great for fighting free radicals. Free radicals are behind many diseases as well as premature aging. The Gwyneth Paltrow diet could be considered an anti-aging diet!

The Gwyneth Paltrow diet is also low in saturated fats. Not only does this promote weight loss, but it also helps prevent heart disease. To boot, the fats in the diet are mono and polyunsaturated fats, which help lower bad cholesterol and raise good cholesterol.

So, what’s up with those brittle bones? Is Gwyneth’s condition caused by her diet? The Gwyneth Paltrow diet may be low in calcium and it certainly lacks vitamin D because it does not include consuming dairy products. We began fortifying dairy products with vitamin D years ago. Still, if done correctly, the Gwyneth Paltrow diet does not have to contribute to poor bone health.

Since the diet includes plenty of vegetables, one could easily eat enough dark leafy greens to get an adequate amount of calcium, especially if they add apple cider vinegar to the greens to aid in the release of calcium and therefore, help the body absorb it better. The Gwyneth Paltrow diet should also include a vitamin D supplement and one other ingredient that is as natural as it gets!

Sunlight! The human body manufactures natural vitamin D via the sunlight. So, rather than blame the Gwyneth Paltrow diet and Gwyneth’s super slim figure on her current bone issues, you might consider her pale skin!

We all need some unprotected time in the sunlight for to ensure adequate vitamin D levels. Gwyneth might consider investing in some good after sun skincare and laying out now and again!
