Losing Weight The Hard Way – Weigh-In #63

This week’s weigh-in is a check-in 😛 I’m currently in Seattle on business and staying with my mom. I’ve been seeing old friends and going out nearly every night and am feeling the repercussions of that in my body – sluggishness, feeling heavy, dead,etc.. I’ve eaten 100% raw today and feel much better already. *sigh* Thank you for all of your support!

    I don’t like stepping on the scale everyday neither. My scale is pretty bad about jumping around in weight, and my weight naturally fluctuates up to 5-7 lbs a month, anyways. Don’t worry about the weigh-ins since they don’t work for every person as far as weightloss management. Do you think you could do measurements to determine if you are losing inches, and then just keep us up when you lose some?

    I just found your channel and I have to thank you for sharing your story as you struggle to lose weight. Losing weight is something that consumes you. I was once a victim of this struggle due to the image that we’re shown of what ”beauty” is. I was luckily able to soon overcome that phase and I still am always conscious of eating healthy but just convinced that it is all about health and inner satisfaction, etc. Anyways, thanks again, and I look forward to your videos! 🙂

    i respect you for not weighing in so much
    i used to be obsessed with the number on the scale and that destroys you
    i would weigh myself in maybe 20 times or more a day and if the number was bad i let that dictate my self respect
    your doing great going raw, so dont beat yourself up about not eating the greatest stuff, especially when your traveling
    you can do it shanti!

    I think a lot of people are worried you’ll fail, because they don’t understand that you wont fail because you’ve made real life changes..not just been on a diet. Once changes are permanent, you should be fine, because you no longer eat the garbage that got you fat to start with LOL You’re more aware of and careful about what you put in your body. I’m sure you’ll be fine without the constant hassle of the scale..I haven’t been on one since May, and I know I’m still losing :O)

    So i am curious are you still weighing in but just not posting. If that is the case thats cool. Totaly understandable. your look great. Also when i go out to eat i do the veggie burger with avocado instead of cheese and get the salad instead of the fries.. or get whatever you want of course.. but those are som easy soultions. You look great cheers.

    You know what is good for you & what will yield success for you. Your success thus far dictates that. The fact that you feel relief confirms you made a good choice. If your weigh in doesn’t turnout how you had hoped I am sure you will reassess & modify. You did just that before. I think it is refreshing that you pave your own path & aren’t scared of change. It is part of what I would like to do for myself. That’s part of what gives others courage to do the same, at least that is true for me.

    I have been addicted to your videos for the last couple of weeks & I finally have watched all of them! WOW, you have motivated me to start my own weight loss youtube site! My husband and I are spending this Labor Day Weekend documenting how we eat and spend our time, not caring about being healthy. But come Tuesday, it’s a whole new way of thinking & living. As you suggested, we will start with small changes. Thanks for all the tips & we hope to be as successful as you have been! Thank you!

    I thought it was really odd that you recieved so many messages repremanding you for not weighing in weekly.. I feel like you have come far enough and made enough positive changes that you SHOULD be able to stop doing weekly weigh ins… You’re not gonna wanna weigh in every week for the rest of your life,are u? LOL

    I would hope we are all striving for the day we no longer have to step on the scale to judge our progress or self worth.

    you look great. i love your vids and have been going through all of them. you really inspire me to just keep going! but for raw foods and stuff, how would you eat like green beans or bok choy? would you just eat these veggies completely like how they are in the store? thanks!

    Shanti, I absolutely agree with you about weighing in once a month, rather than once a week! There are so many biological reasons why you could gain on a week where your eating was impeccable and your exercise was in check. The monthly weigh in will just demonstrate a steady decrease on the scale, and I know that’s what you’re going for. I don’t comment all that often, but I always watch your videos and take something from each and every one of them. I respect you very much 🙂

    a month allows me more time to balance and not worry how a bad day will affect me ..weekly a bad made me panic and me think its aother screwed up week
