Loads Of Fun On A Kids Scooter

Kids Scooters are all the rage right now and as a parent I am really pleased about this because I think they are beneficial to children in a variety of ways. Firstly kids scooters can help to develop stability in your child’s balance. When using Ride on trikes etc little balance is actually needed to stay on board. At the other extreme, learning to ride a bike for a child requires much more balance and I believe that scooters for kids are a fantastic way to bridge the gap between these two forms or transport. Children can get used to balancing on 2 wheels on a scooter where their feet are just an inch or 2 from the ground, safe in the knowledge they can put their feet down on the floor at any time. Your children can also begin to learn about how their centre of gravity changes when they turn corners, again for handy for when they start to learn to ride a bicycle.

Building confidence is also really important for your growing kids and learning to master the art of anything is a great confidence booster. Because you can choose how long you lift both feet off the floor when riding a scooter your kids can gradually build confidence and see a little progress each time they go out scooting. Once they can use a scooter with confidence you will continue to see them stretch their abilities with more speed, tricks and stunts so the learning never really ends.

Riding a kids scooter can bring a certain degree of freedom for your child. Where it’s safe, being able to free wheel around streets or local park on their own little mode of transport will give them a real feeling of the wind in their hair and space around them. Sadly in this modern world there is a tendency for many of us mums not to want to let our offspring too far from our apron strings but this needs to be balanced with the need to let our children explore and scooters for kids are a great way for them to do this.

My kids always seem to have so much fun when they are out on their scooters. And as a mum one of my favourite things is to watch them glide down the slopes on the park and it gives me a real heart-warming feeling to see the thrill in their eyes as they gather speed and round the corner at the bottom. My younger soon has now progress on to a Slamm Rage II Stunt scooter and my oldest is currently interested in the Ripstik, is a new style ride which is almost a cross between a scooter and a skateboard. These are also great for building up the same kind of balance as snowboarding or surfing. My son is nagging me for the Ripstik Air Pro which is the top model but the Ripstik Ripster is the entry model and probably more appropriate for a beginner.

Kids scooters are great for helping your children get out and about and meet other kids. Scooting is always more fun it you have someone to show off to or chase around the park. My kids spend hours now each week racing around the little park opposite our house with the other kids in the area. Its great fun to watch them enjoying the outdoors but also making friends and socializing. Because kids scooters these days come in so many sizes and styles there seems to be one to suit every kids. The younger ones seem to start out on the 3 wheel scooters such as the Iscoot mini micro scooter. The JD bug and Micro scooter do some great first 2 wheel folding scooters and then once you are a pro migrating on to the Madd Gear Pro and Slamm Scooters will give you confidence in your stunts and make you the envy of the park.
