You need to control your diet if you really want to lose weight. You will not lose weight if you are not in a negative caloric state.

So here is how to spend less time in the kitchen and more time losing weight:

1. Cook your protein beforehand: Of all the different macronutrients, protein keeps the best once cooked. So if you want to save a lot of time in terms of meal prep, cook your protein before hand and simply add it in to each meal when it’s time to eat.

2. Don’t bother with egg whites: You can spend all morning trying to separate egg whites from egg yolks. But you are far better off saving your time and buying egg whites in cartons or simply buying egg substitutes. The meager savings from buying whole eggs just aren’t worth it.

3. Purchase frozen roughage: Frozen greens keep very well and they can easily be prepared if you steam them. Even better, frozen greens do retain a lot of their nutrients despite going through the freezing process. So don’t be afraid of frozen greens.

4. Get a slow cooker: Modern slow cookers have digital clocks that will track how long your food is cooking and will keep the food warm once it is done. This makes it very easy to simply put your food in the pot and forget about it.

5. Buy frozen protein: Similar to frozen vegetables, frozen protein stores very well and retains a lot of nutrients. And since protein is so expensive, it makes sense to buy frozen sources so that you don’t have to worry about it going bad on you.

6. Steam as much as possible: You see steaming food is very healthy, but it’s also very fast. And with bag steamers you can literally steam anything in your microwave. This takes a lot of prep time out of meal preparation.

Avoiding slow cooking speeds is an excellent way to increase your chances of success. So take heed of this advice right now!
