How To Preserve Your Joints So You Can Keep On Exercising

Once a joint wears out it’s virtually impossible to restore it. You see, the structures in a joint do not regenerate once they are worn down.

Unfortunately, many people do not know how to take of their joints.

Thus, here is how to make sure your joints don’t degenerate:

1. Use balance training in moderation: Now there is no need to go overboard here, but make sure there is at least some balance training in your routine. This will ensure that your muscles keep on moving the way they are supposed to.

2. Avoid repetitive cardio: Cardio that is done in the same fashion day in and day out will wear away your joints very quickly. Running is a perfect example here. Frequent running that is long duration is absolutely horrible for your knees.

3. Rest in between workouts: Just like your muscles, connective tissue gets broken down and needs ample time to recover. So make sure you rest enough in between workouts so that your body can fully recover. If you don’t, your joints and connective tissue will suffer.

4. Get a postural assessment: You want this done by a professional. Don’t pick your garden variety personal trainer. Instead, figure out exactly what areas of your body need work. Then, create a systematic approach to address them.

5. Don’t sit down all day: In fact, sitting down all day is a surefire way to degenerate the discs in your lower back and to make your hamstrings very tight. So if possible, try to work from the standing position to give your joints the most healthy environment.

6. Get rid of muscle knots as soon as they appear: A muscle knot if left untreated, can cause your muscles to form inelastic collagen. This in turn will make it very difficult for you to move correctly. So never let a muscle knot take over your muscles.

Preserving your joints is one of the best things you can do to extend your body’s warranty. So take action here sooner rather than later!
