How many calories can I eat a day?

I would like to write an article to answer the question on the amount of calories should i eat every day to lose fat?

This question is a very common one, as the majority of health specialists have said that people should limit their calorie intake as they eat too much food with high calorie count.

I have a hard time doing this, since, for me, calorie counting isn’t that crucial. This is because the number of people suffering from weight problems are still rising regardless of how much they know about their calorie intake.

While it may be correct that calorie count is important, this isn’t too important for normal people like you and me.

Let’s for a moment assume that the “calories in, calories out” theory holds and ignore the fact that you might be able to shed weight without ever worrying about calories by simply giving up fast food.

This theory tells us that people are becoming obese since they eat more food than they “burn” food. The calorie content of those extra food are then transformed by the body into fat, giving our body additional weight and will later lead to obesity.

If you wish to shed 30 pounds by using this technique, and you want to decrease a minimum of 500 calories every day, you’d need to weigh in each and every food you eat and know its calorie content for 7 months.

Let’s think that you’ve an insanely strong willpower and are willing to let yourself go through many months of feeling hungry and energy deprived. Do you think you will be good to go after that?

You are going to have to continue doing this, since otherwise you are going to gain that weight back.

Plus there are a number of other problems with calorie counting:

Your metabolism depends on height, body fat levels, age, sex, activity level, hormones, genetics and many more factors.

Restricting your calorie intake will affect your metabolic rate, with its rate changing high and low.

The brain regulates body fat levels, and it will increase your hunger and decrease your activity levels to try and withstand any changes.

Having to weigh every food you eat will be a huge obligation in your life. You won’t be able to eat out at restaurants or other peoples houses, and it is just downright annoying and unsustainable.

Obviously, this is a recipe for disaster. We can not expect people to weigh and count every single piece of food they eat for the rest of their lives, which is truly what’s necessary to lose weight this way.

I also happen to think that the human race is something more than just a big group of gluttons who’re unable to control themselves.

I am going to discuss a specific hormone in your body that you have probably heard of before. It is known as Insulin.

As you might know, Insulin is used for regulating one’s blood sugar levels, stopping people from being a diabetic.

What insulin also does, is to work as a gatekeeper to your fat cells.

When insulin levels are elevated, the body’s fat cells are told to store fat and to ensure that whatever amount of fat already in them doesn’t get out.

If levels of insulin are high even though you’re eating less calories than you burn, then your body fat will have a real hard time getting away from your fat cells.

This will make the body feel energy deprived and your brain will respond.

Which then leads to the inevitable “hunger”.

The best option to this is to select the foods that do not contain too much content of something that impacts insulin release.

The macronutrient which releases the greatest amount of insulin is carbohydrate. A drop in carbs intake reduces insulin levels.

In this way, some of the fat stored inside the body are burnt and the sense of hunger dissipates. The science proves it.

Hunger for food will then disappear, and the body will instead use the extra fat as energy for the whole body.

Remember, weight loss isn’t really affected by calories, but rather, the kind of foods that we eat and foods that encourage weight reduction.
