How do you differentiate muscle mass, and fat?!?

When you’re trying to lose weight, and you gain weight during that process how do you know that what you’ve gained is muscle mass and not fat? Like when youve only been on the diet for lets say two months I don’t think you would build enough muscle to actually visualize you’ve gained muscle mass and not fat, right? So how would you know that you’ve gained *good* weight and not *bad* weight?

    In 2 months you could have gained muscle. To measure it officially, you need one of those body fat analyzer scales, or go to a gym and have a trainer measure you with calipers. (more accurate).

  2. You can use a measuring tape. If it is getting smaller while your weight is increasing, then you are losing fat and gaining muscle.

    You can also get your percentage body fat checked with skinfold caliper, bioelectrical impedance, or floatation tank.
