How A Broken Family Can Heal With Proper Treatment

Velvet Mangan, the founder of Safe Harbor and Patrick Babcock, founder and executive director of Foundation House Treatment Center joined Allen Cardoza and Dr. Melody on LA Talk Radio.

Patients begin focusing on healing and re-establishing family and friends relationships during their time at one of the two treatment centers. During treatment, men and women can get help with drug and alcohol problems. They can get control of their lives by working on issues related to shame, self-loathing, body distortion, codependency, self-esteem, and negative patterns.

As a recovered alcoholic woman herself, Velvet Mangan deeply understands the heartache and hopelessness that comes with an addiction. As the founder of Safe Harbor Treatment Center for Women, she helps women find permanent healing from the addictions that are ruining their lives. She has over 23 years experience helping women overcome addictions.

Safe Harbor was developed because she felt that there was a need for a special place for women to recover. When she started her own personal journey towards recovery and sobriety such a place did not exist for her.

The Founder and Executive Director of Foundation House, Patrick Babcock began his professional career helping men in recovery from alcoholism and chemical dependency. Since 2002, he has helped hundreds of men break free from addiction and experience a sober and happier way of life.

It is Babcock’s belief that a 12-step program is essential for an individual to enjoy long term recovery, and, as a result of his own experiences within “the program”, has created an environment in Foundation House that teaches the residents not just how to get sober, but rather, through the use of a practical and holistic approach to the 12-steps, how to stay sober.

Babcock credits learning his motivational and leadership techniques first by observing those of his father, a successful business owner, and studying the teachings of Coaches Vince Lombardi and John Wooden. He also emulated the work in the recovery field as demonstrated by Mr. Greg Varley and Mrs. Geraldine Owen Delaney of Alina Lodge.
