Getting Rid of Acne and Other Problems With Your Skin

Teenagers mostly see acne as another gross part of life. Yes it makes us look funny and can be really embarrassing, but we get through it because we know that everybody else is dealing with it too. Adults are not supposed to face the same severe acne that teenagers deal with. Even random and small breakouts can freak us out when we are grown up because we thought we were over all of that nonsense! Nothing makes us relive our teenage years like waking up to a face that has a few spots and bumps. Worse, as an adult a lot of these spots and bumps can be very painful. Use these tips to help you fight your acne whether you are still in high school or are all grown up.

The first thing you need to do is find a good cleanser. When you are shopping for your cleanser you need to use a variety of criteria; don’t choose a cleanser simply because it is not oil based. Salicylic acid is something else that is important. This is one of the most important ingredients in harsher cleansers that are meant for people whose breakouts are prolonged and severe. In a “regular” cleanser though, the strength of the salicylic acid is just enough to zap the bacteria and clean out your pores. Unfortunately, as you get older, your skin will become more sensitive and using salicylic acid cleansers regularly will be bad so you should save them for spot treatments later on.

Try not to let your hands touch your face. Most people don’t realize how much time their hands spend on their faces every day. The contact between our faces and our hands is partly to blame for our acne problems. Give yourself a minute to contemplate this. Every time you touch something and then touch your face you are transporting some of that item into your facial pores. It is really easy to clog your pores with the oil on your hands when your hands serve as a resting spot for your face. This is one of the best ways for flu germs to travel–a sick person uses an object and then puts it down, leaving some germs behind so that when you then use the same object the germs are transferred to your hands and then later to your face when you touch your face with your hands! This is why you should try not touch your face with your hands.

Clean your face a minimum of two times each day. Things can work their way into our pores even while we are sleeping. You should have a cleaning routine for your skin that you do in the morning and at night. While you don’t have to put as much effort into your morning skin care routine as you do in the evening, you should do at least a quick washing and moisturizing. Your face will be very happy!

At least twice every day you need to wash your face. Your skin is still vulnerable at night when you are asleep. This is why you need to develop a morning and an evening skincare routine. Your evening cleansing routine will be more involved than the routine you do in the mornings because you will be washing away all of the things that have clogged your pores during the day, but at the bare minimum your face should get cleansed each morning. You’ll be glad you’ve taken the time for this! Keeping your hands to yourself and making sure to keep your face clean are two of the most basic and most reliable ways to cure an acne breakout. Other breakouts will require you to use something a little bit more powerful than a basic cleanser. You should be happy to know that while acne does not discriminate against age, neither do acne fighting agents-you should be able to find something to cure your breakout no matter what your number is.
