Fertility Treatments To Help You Conceive

Many people today are delaying having trouble. It is estimated that nearly 10% of couples will have trouble conceiving an offspring. This can be heart-breaking because many people have dreams of becoming a mother or father. Fortunately, many couples have bared offspring despite the fact that they were told they would never be able to do so. Finding out a cause of a couple’s fertility problems is the first step in helping them conceive. Some of the most common causes of infertility include: irregular ovulation in women, low sperm-count in men, being overweight or obese and doing drugs or drinking alcohol in excess. Detecting and correcting these problems will help a couple conceive faster.

A woman must ovulate to become pregnant, and regular ovulation greatly increases her chances of conceiving. If a hormonal imbalance, such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, also known as POS, is causing the woman’s menstrual irregularity, her doctor might prescribe an ovulation-inducing medication, such as clomid. This medication has helped many infertile women restore their fertility and succeed in getting pregnant.

Another major factor of infertility issues is low sperm counts. In order for women to become pregnant, only one sperm has to fertilize one egg, but the more sperm there is, the higher the chance an egg has of actually becoming fertilized. Eating right, exercising regularly, and decreasing dress are all ways of improving sperm count. But, there is a chance that these changes won’t work, so women who have regular periods can partake in artificial insemination, where sperm is implanted in their body.

Being overweight or obese can make getting pregnant very difficult also. The rate of people who have trouble conceiving is rising, which correlates with the rising obesity epidemic. Women who are overweight are more likely to have irregular menstrual cycles, which can make becoming pregnant extremely difficult. Men who are overweight are more likely to have low sperm-count, which can make viable sperm reaching the egg extremely difficult. Studies have shown that losing as little as ten or fifteen pounds can help increase a couple’s chances of conceiving drastically.

Eating a well-balanced diet that is full of fresh fruits, vegetables and lean meats will help a person lose weight. It is also important to make sure that one exercises for at least 30 minutes for five days out of the week. Drinking lots of water will also aid in weight loss. Many people smoke and drink and this can cause infertility. Smoking and drinking lower sperm count in men and may also cause ovulation problems in women. If a person quits smoking, then the chances of conceiving will increase. If a person still chooses to drink alcohol, it should be done in moderation. Men should only drink one or two drinks a day. Women who are trying to get pregnant should avoid alcohol altogether.

Many couples today hear those dreadful words “you will never get pregnant.” However, they should not let that get them down because many couples have been bear offspring even though they were told would not never conceive. Identifying a fertility problem helps couples successfully conceiving an offspring. Many couples have gotten pregnant simply by relaxing, eating healthier, consuming water in large amounts, and managing stress. Additionally, those who still experience trouble conceiving have other options such as fertility medications or artificial insemination.
