Despite the fact that I do have some basic knowledge on nutrition, I must say that it is definitely a challenge for me to come up with healthy breakfast ideas, healthy lunch recipes and overall just feeding my family a proper healthy food.

Proportion:

There are 4 kind of groups in the food pyramid:

1. Grains: bread, rice, pasta and etc. This group is in the bottom of the pyramid, which mean we should eat the most out of this group.

2. Fruit & Vegetable. This group is the 2nd from the bottom and we should eat a lot from this group, but still a little less than the first group.

3. Milk products, various meats, seafood and beans. as compared to second and first groups, but more compared to the fourth group.

4. Fats, oils & sweet treats. A smaller amount when compared with all the other groups.

We must always try to eat on a daily basis ingredients coming from all the four groups – but remember the proper portion!

Diversity:

That is not complex. As I previously mentioned, we must always try to eat each day from all the four groups in the food chart, yet we must always keep it exciting. Never eat each day the very same thing. As an example: If on Thursday you eat spaghetti on Saturday you could eat rice, If on Mondy you eat lettuce and tomato than on Saturday you will eat avocado and carrot. very simple, right?
