Any good protein supplements for dogs?

When I say supplements I mean supplements. I realize I’m bound to get a lot of answers like "give her more protein to eat." The thing is she already gets protein in her food but may have a protein deficiency, which I am definitely going to confirm with my veterinarian ASAP. However, I already know he doesn’t have protein supplements or anything in mind so I was wondering if anyone knows anything?

  1. Salt&Pepper Apricot says:

Don’t give her anything until the vet confirms it. She may have too much protein causing the problem, which means you’ll have to feed her a kibble with less protein. Or she may have problems with animal protein. I met one dog that had to eat a soy based kibble because he couldn’t handle animal protein.

OR, it could be something else completely different.

  2. If you feel that there is a protein deficiency, then I would be inclined to say to change the protein source not take supplements. Never actually heard of protein supplements for dogs.

Never really heard of a dog with protein deficiency and not sure why or how you would suspect it, but I doubt if you would think that if you went on to raw feed, where the protein source is so wholesome. Can’t get better.

That is what I would do. Their whole body changes with far better muscle definition when you change to raw.
