Establishing a specific schedule and sticking to it, might be the most difficult thing, depending on children and their ages. They don’t think of interrupting you when you are at work elsewhere, but that is different at home. You’ll want to set times that you will be off-limits to everyone, even your family, unless there is an emergency. Any time you pay attention to what has to be done now, you will spend less time searching for things. Take into account the time you waste on a computer, when you have to look for things you can’t find.
