A physical product will never be able to do all the work for you. But if you are taking your training to the next level, certain products can make a difference.

But you need to know which gadgets are worth your money.

So here are some gym accessories that can make a difference in your workouts:

1. A power lifting belt: Please do not assume that wearing a belt will make your core so weak that your body folds in on itself. As long as you don’t wear your belt for everything you do you will be just fine. Use it for the lifts that place the highest strain on your back.

2. Specialized shoes: Weight lifting shoes are much more stable than their cross training counterparts. You see, most commercial shoes are made for running which requires lots of cushion. Weight lifting shoes, however, are made for stability.

3. A digital music player: They are small, they are cheap and they store a massive amount of music. You see, studies have shown that listening to music you like can increase exercise output. Please do not assume that your local gym will accommodate your musical tastes.

4. Portable water: Water is necessary for optimal hydration. After all, once you dehydrate everything slows down in your body. And carrying your own portable water in the gym is a great way to maximize your levels of hydration.

5. Weight lifting straps: Using straps is a great way to overcome a grip that can’t keep up with the strength of your larger back muscles. And keep in mind that as long as you don’t abuse your straps, your grip strength will develop just fine.

6. Gymnastics chalk: That white stuff gymnasts use really help increase their grip. And if you are training really hard an increase in grip can really help you. Even better, if your gym doesn’t clean its weights chalk can help offset the slipper body grease left on the weights.

Although the above accessories will not get you in shape, they sure can help. And in some cases they can prevent serious injury!
