5 Eye Vision Exercises

The new age brings a lot of benefits and good things with it. But, that also comes with a price. Today we spend more hours in front of our TV or computer monitor than we do with our loved ones. Some of us make our bread and butter in front of our computers, some to get educated, some are there to have fun and most of us are to check the newest gossip on Facebook. However, it really doesn’t matter what you will do in front of the monitor as long as it is turned on. The more hours you spent in front of the monitor, the bigger the odds that you will have to look for glasses and lenses at some period of time.

When talking about the eyes you must be aware that they are nothing more than a muscle. The majority of the people think that it is naturally for the eye vision to get decreased with time. It is something that they take for granted and they are in peace with that “fact”. In addition to that you have the opticians that will gladly be there for you to find the proper glasses or lenses for you and of course to charge you for the service.

However, the time has come to make the difference on what is a myth and what is a fact? It is a fact that the sooner you start using glasses, the sooner your eye vision will start to decrease and you will need to make another visit to your friend the optician for new and stronger glasses. If you want real confirmation about that fact than all you need is to talk to someone with glasses and lenses. Remember to talk to the people that are using glasses and lenses and not the people that are selling them. The thing about the eyes is that they will adapt to the glasses and soon after you will need stronger pair of glasses to function properly. And from that point on the ship has sailed in one direction and from time to time you will need stronger glasses until the moment the Hubble telescope is the only one that is suitable for your needs.

The good thing is that today you don’t have to be one of those people. Now you have a choice. There is a solution that will help you not to become a statistic, but an exception. As with any other muscle on our body the eyes need regular exercise. We have all seen old men that run marathons and are in great shape. That type of muscle shape can be accomplished also with the eye muscles. Before you should even consider going to the optician, you should at least read this article to the end and try out some of the techniques that are mentioned here. The exercises are not something revolutionary or groundbreaking. They are pretty simple and easy to do. Many people had their vision restored to their normal vision as before.

Five Exercises on how to improve the vision and strengthen the eye muscles.

1. Blinking

I know that sounds a bit funny, but it is something that is overlooked by many. People sitting in front of TV or computer blink less than they usually do. That is the case because they tend to focus on something. If you don’t believe me then you should do a simple test. For the next two minutes you should blink every few seconds. Do that and try to make a mental picture in your head on how your eyes felt. After you are done with that, try to blink only once every 30 seconds for two minutes. Now tell me if you still think that I am joking with you?

An eye blink will help you reduce the eye strain. Every blink means that the eyes are going into a short period of darkness that helps to keep your eyes fresh. Also, it is a way for the eyes to discharge the previous information and to prepare for new upcoming information.

2. Palming

It is a way to decrease the stress level around your eyes and to make your eyes more relaxed while you are on a brake. The best way to do that is to find a comfortable spot to sit, lean forward, take few deep breathes, close your eyes, place the hands on your eyes, put the fingers on the forehead and you are good to go. Don’t apply too much pressure on your eyes and make sure that your eyes can blink freely. Even it may appear as a small exercise it is something that will help you make through a long working day.

3. Figure of eight

This is my favorite exercise don’t you dare to skip this exercise. The purpose is to exercise your eye muscles and to increase their flexibility. It is a simple exercise with great effects.

Imagine the number eight standing ten feet in front of you. Next step is to turn it on its side. Now slowly trace the figure with your eyes. You need to do it one way for few minutes and the other way for few more minutes as well. I know that looks bit weird and strange, but believe me that this exercise is worth the effort.

4. Near and far focusing This exercise is an exercise that can be done on a discrete way and without over the shoulder looks. All you need to do is to be in a comfortable position and it will take not more than 2-3 minutes at a time. Place the thumb some ten inches in front of you and start to focus on it. Next step is to focus on something else that is ten or twenty feet in front of you. With every deep breath you will take you need to switch your focus from your thumb to the other object that you focused on. You need to repeat that several times.

It is an exercise that will improve the vision and it will strengthen the muscles in the eyes.

5. Zooming As with other exercise the main thing is to be in a very comfortable position. With the arm stretched and with the thumbs as you are hitchhiking you need first to start focusing on the thumb and then to start bringing the thumb closer and closer to your face. Do that until your thumb is about three inches in front of your face then you need to move the thumb away until the arm is completely outstretched. You should do the exercise few minutes at a time during the day.

It is an exercise that will strengthen the eye muscles in general and improve your focusing skills.
