Forgiving Yourself – Living a Life Set Free

On a recent morning as I strolled on the beach watching an impossible to believe sun-rise I became forgiveness by God’s forgiveness. It was just like the colours of the sun-rise were revealing tome His unending forgiveness in my life. I began to think about how flawed I am , my constant need for His compassion and the hurt I cause Him by the misdeeds in my life.

Thinking of verses that my Heavenly Father not only forgives, He forgets all of my sins forgiving and forgetting. I was thinking about the forgetting and realized how incredibly hard it is to comprehend that God forgets. It was overpowering thinking about how we fall so short in forgiving others and ourselves, yet He not only forgives, but doesn’t know of our past forgiven sins. Then the word surrender took over. If I’m so defective and in such drastic need of forgiveness and you are so willing to show me grace; why do I need to be in control of me or any other person?

Your Heavenly Father so wishes for you to be totally freed from your hurt, agony, injuries and discontentments of your life. God wants to give you freedom to live a life beyond your wildest imagination

God’s Forgiveness

You don’t need to continue to beat yourself up over your sin. God loves you so much He sent His Son to die on the cross for each sin you and I have committed or ever will commit.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 NIV

If you sin again, and you will you can confess those sins again and receive forgiveness.

He who conceals his sins does not thrive, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

Proverb 28:13 NIV

God’s forgiveness comes through Jesus Christ with no screaming, no evil looks, no sly comments, just complete forgiveness. His forgiveness is calm, assuring and full of His love. He is waiting to forgive you!

Have You Forgiven Yourself?

God has forgiven you, now it is your turn to start forgiving yourself. Have you ever heard the tune “What Sin?”

The heaviest thing you’ll carry

Is a load of guilt and shame.

You were never meant to bear them

So let them go in Jesus name.

Our God is slow to anger

Quick to forgive our sin

So let Him put them under the blood

Don’t bring them up again.

Cause He’ll just say,

What sin, what sin?

The heaviest thing you will ever carry is that load of guilt and shame. The tune tells you that you were not intended to bear your sins, they were put under the blood of Jesus. He died for your sin, so do not bring them up again. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, if you have confessed and turned away, then you are forgiven and your sin is forgotten. You are free to live. How does God tell us to live?

So I say, live by the Spirit, and you won’t gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

Galatians 5:16 NIV
