Are fish oil supplements better than a multivitamin, or is there a supplement that combines both benefits?

Could you also give names of good supplements out on the market and where to buy them?

You can't combine fish oil and multivitamins in the same pill.
And you cant compare the two…they are apples and oranges.

And as a general rule of thumb, I usually recommend both.
There are many considerations to take into account when selecting a multivitamin (age, gender, activity/stress level, diet, possible health issues)

Fish oil should not be taken by those with clotting disorders….there are some other contraindications when combining them with presciption medication, but you should discuss that with a pharmacist – because this would get real long and boring….

Brands of Fish oil I like….
    Carlson – in the liquid….
Country Life (the mood factors has High EPA – which is a good thing)

Those are the best out there in my opinion…

  2. There's a site called vitacost where I get mine for a steal! Try googling it! It's good to get both the fish oil and the vitamins seperate. At the prices on that site it's totally affordable.
    Good luck!

Any top quality fish oil or flax seed oil supplements are good to take..go for 1500 mg. a day…they are a prime source for Omega 3's. The multivitamin doesn't offer that nutrient . I take both…Centrum multi is a good brand…When searching for the others, get the gel type. Their easier to swallow and dissolve quicker..

  4. vitamins are meant to give you the minerals and such that you may not get from your regular diet. fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acid which is linked to brain development and function. I personally take them seperate because I havnt found a combined pill.
