Dsquared Spectacles

Dean and Dan Caten are Canadian fashion designers and identical twin brothers. They are the creators of Dsquared.

The Caten brothers grew up in Canada to Italian parents, but are now based in Milan, Italy working alongside some of the world most famous high fashion brands.

The designers have a great fashion background to them, working for both Versace and Diesel.

Soon wanting to design their own collections and make all the creative decisions, they started their very own label in 1994.

Initially showcasing their menswear collection, they moved into womenswear in 2003, as well as creating a range of underwear for men. As well as clothing, the company has also made forays into footwear, cosmetics and perfumes.

Oftentimes, they use well known celebrities as part of their shows, such as Rihanna and Christina Aguilera.

Dsquared first started making eyewear in 2009, after a deal was made with the Marcolin Group, who also produce glasses for Tom Ford and Roberto Cavalli. The range has been a huge success, and are one of Dsquared’s most profitable and well loved ranges.

Dsquared prescription glasses are inspired by the catwalks of Milan and Paris, and height fashion is definitely a running theme.

The designs are entirely individual, with the pieces a mix of classic design and modern styling. The use of colour in Dsquared is unparalleled, with bold and bright shades that other designers cannot pull off effectively.

Most of the frames are bold and obvious, creating a focal point and drawing attention to the face. Some of the designs, however, are subtle and understated, with a high fashion kick.

Dsquared are a relatively new brand to the designer prescription glasses market, but they have certainly made a big impression. The designs are like no other, so for the person wanting something completely unique, this brand is the way to go.
