Alarming! We may lose safe drinking water, which is very essential to human and other creations. Well, as the population increased, the demand for safe drinking water increased also. In the market, there are chemical purifiers including lot of purifying or distilling methods to address the matter. The processes made the price of water increased. It is unusual to get free drinking water. Well, what are the ways to water purification? What are the water purifying methods that many applied?

Water purification! It is the process of removing the biological contaminants, materials and chemicals from the contaminated water. The end makes the water available for people safe consumption. However, purification may likely be designed for a variety of other purposes as meeting the requirements of pharmacology, medical, chemical and industrial applications. The process involves the use of the filtration and sedimentation in physical, sand filters and or activated sludge biologically, chlorination and flocculation chemically and ultraviolet light in electromagnetic radiation.

The easiest way among purifying water methods is the physical sedimentation and filtration which allows separating the solid particles as well as pollutants embedded in the water using lamellar separators. The process leads to biological change as done in sewage treatment also. Another method is boiling where the water is heated long and hot enough to kill the micro-organisms that usually stay in the water at room temperature. Usually chlorine that is added to the water has been popularly used today as a purifying method. It allows you to avoid waterborne diseases since it blocks bacteria, viruses and amoeba as well. Last method that can be applied is the use of electromagnetic radiation in which the ultraviolet light makes to kill many microorganisms in the water as bacteria, viruses, molds, algae, yeast and oocysts like giardia and cryptosporidium. Ultraviolet light has no effect on chlorine, volatile organic compounds, heavy metals and other chemical contaminants or toxins.
