A Guide For Women Wishing To Improve Their Posture

Not only is posture important for the image you want to project, but it’s also important for maintaining the health of your non-renewable joints.

Unfortunately, many women are unknowingly worsening their posture.

Thus, here is a guide for improving your posture immediately:

1. Avoid the extended use of high heels: The main issue with high heels is that they make your calf muscles very tight which can lead to over pronation of your foot. This in turn can make it very hard for you to squat properly.

2. Avoid an overemphasis on step machines: Step machines will make your hip flexors very tight. And you probably already have very tight hip flexors if you are in the seated position for extended periods of time. So limit use here.

3. Avoid the seated position as much as possible: The female body was not made to be in the seated position all day. In fact, working from the seated position is the number one cause for massive increases in the rates of lower back pain.

4. Reassess your workstation: Making sure your workstation is set up correctly can make an astronomical difference in the quality of your posture. After all, bad workstations are the number one cause for postural degeneration.

5. Do more pulling in your workouts: Pulling more will pull your shoulders back which will increase the health of your delicate rotator cuff tendons. You see, having a forward slouch puts your rotator cuff muscles at risk since they have less space to move around in.

6. Don’t use your chest so much: Doing this can further exacerbate a forward hunch or rounded shoulders. You see, when your shoulders round forward your chest muscles become tight. If you exercise those same chest muscles with a high frequency you make them even tighter.

Correcting your posture is the best thing you can do for the image you project. It will also protect your joints for many years to come!
